AUBURN – William Thomas Avison, Jr. “Bill,” 57, of Farmington, passed peacefully on Friday morning, April 17, 2015, at the Hospice House with family at his side.

He was born on Jan. 27, 1958, in N. Attleboro, Mass., the son of William T. and Evelyn (Gerrish) Avison, Sr. He was a 1978 graduate of Kennebunk High School and for over 25 years was employed at Napa Auto Parts in Kennebunk until his health failed.

Bill enjoyed watching movies, particularly westerns and horror films. He loved his children very much and was proud of his sons’ accomplishments with his lawn business. His greatest joy were his grandsons, Cody and Spencer Field; they were his hope.

He leaves his father, William T. Avison, Sr. and his wife, Kimberly of Seneca, S.C.; a daughter, Jamie Avison and her husband, Jeffrey of Farmington; and their sons, Cody and Spencer Field; a son: William Avison and his significant other, Tallie Gerrish and her children Layla and Juel of Rochester, N.H.; two sisters; Donna Avison of Miami, Florida and Dawn DeCoste and her husband, Paul of N. Carolina; two nephews, Mark and Brandon DeCoste.

He was predeceased by his mother.

At Bill’s request, private family visitation followed by cremation and burial at the Hope Cemetery in Kennebunk. Remembrance gifts may be given to his grandsons in care of their parents: Jeffrey Field and Jamie Avison 124 Moore Ave. Farmington, ME 04938.

  1. This was so beautifully written and true to who Bill was. He was a close friend of mine as well as my family, my own children got to know him over the last two years and loved him. He will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family. I know I already miss him!! R.I.P Bill Avison :-(

  2. Bill was an awesome man who loved his kids and grandkids alot. Im sorry to see him leave at a young age. But now he is an angel watching over every one of us with hope that we stay close as a family and not fall apart.
