My name is Zack, I am 12 years old and I am a member of Boy Scout Troop 546 in Temple. I would like to share some information about scouting in hopes to get more boys involved. Boy Scouts is for boys ages 11-18, looking for fun ways to learn and get involved in the world around you.
Our Troop has recently done community service by helping a local church fill and distribute food baskets and by helping to relocate the New Sharon Library. Several of our Troop members often attend a local church and participate in the service by being greeters and handing out flyers. Our Troop is currently preparing to go to merit badge college. There we will spend two days working on merit badges to further advance in our rank.
I am working on three badges. Personal Management: learning a lot about money, how to budget and save. Citizen in the Community and Communications: learning about my town, I have interviewed a police officer and attended a selectmen’s meeting. Our Troop has lots of fun things planned. This weekend we will be working on our winter outdoor activity badge by going skiing and and snowboarding at Titcomb Mountain, we also have a tubing trip planned. We have many camping trips planned for the up coming summer too.
Scouting brings boys together, through hard work and lots of fun we learn the skills to prepare us for our the life ahead of us.

I have such good memories of scouting. Attending Jambories was always fun and excitings. There were huge Jambories at the base of Tumbledown and hiking to the top. An all day trip.
