Letter to the Editor: I am voting for Jan Collins

1 min read

I am voting for Jan Collins for State Senate because she exemplifies all that we value in Maine: her humble manner, dedication to listening to all opinions, and her community service for all of our people and for the environment.

A lifelong Mainer, Jan has been a science teacher and is a small business owner and farmer. She has always fit into her life major volunteer work, including Wilton Comprehensive Plan Committee, Maine Prisoner Advocacy Coalition, Maine Master Naturalist, and she conducts bat surveys for Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

Her work at the local and state levels gives her the experience and knowledge needed to negotiate and advocate for us in the halls of government in Augusta. She will listen and propose and get results for our State Senate District—all of Franklin County and several towns in Kennebec County.

  1. Anti-Gun, pro baby killing, pro higher taxes, pro big government, pro increased spending. No way in hell would I ever support anybody like that.

  2. I’m sure she is a nice person, however I support Russell Black. Russell has been in and around Augusta for some time, is well known in politics there and is best positioned to help our senate district better then Jan. Like it or not, being already well known in Augusta is a big advantage for us.

  3. …Can any of the Democrats running for office please tell the voting public
what the platform of the Democratic Party Is ? Is it aligned with the Socialist Wing of the Party or the Non Existent JFK Party ? or perhaps the
New Progressive (what the hell is going on) Party. At this time in our country you record stinks so please explain what the voters can depend on if you are elected. Our President may have a crude style but at least he keeps his promises and gets results.
