The Free Senior Citizen Valentine’s Day Luncheon was a big success this year.

Valentine’s Day proved to be a very special day at the Chesterville Town Office. A huge crowd turned out on the beautiful sunshiny day with high expectations for the Free Senior Citizen Valentine’s Day Luncheon sponsored by the North Chesterville Extension Homemakers. They were not disappointed. In fact, more tables needed to be set up to serve the nearly ninety people. The tables were set with lovely table centerpieces, handmade Valentine cards, decorative napkins in flower holders, Hershey kiss mice, and pretty decorated jars.

The food was plentiful and delicious! Comments included the ham was so tasty and tender, you could cut it with a fork, what a wide assortment of decorated cupcakes to choose from, you even have sugar free ice cream, wow, what a variety of food, everything is so delicious, this is great, I’m so glad you do this, just to name a few.

People also enjoyed having free raffles for guess how many candies are in the jar and winning the six beautiful table centerpieces and jars. Some also participated at the craft table, and lots of people took home the free magazines from the magazine table.

The entertainment was outstanding! Randy and Travis Pinkham played their guitars and sang. Teresa Besson played her harmonica and sang. Kitty Gee did some whistling and also sang. Then all four of them entertained together. Everyone clapped and had a great time. Some people even got up and danced.

It was such a great success due to the many dedicated volunteers that came out and helped. We are looking forward to doing it again next year!
