Letter to the Editor: Support Buckland on Nov. 4

1 min read

My daughter, Addilyn Davis, now three years old was born with a rare terminal disease known as Krabbe. The day she was born was also the day she was sentenced to death. Many in our community have come together to support us through this painful, unimaginable journey that no child or parent should have to endure. We are so grateful for the love and support we have been offered.

This last month Mr. Andy Buckland, who is running for House District #113; contacted me to gain more insight into this deadly disease. The fact that he took the initiative to contact me speaks volumes of this man’s character. I spoke of my earnest desires to have each child born in the state of Maine be tested for Krabbe Disease. This is a test that is already preformed on each child. We are simply fighting for this to be implemented into the newborn screening panel.

As a community you have all supported our family and its fight for newborn screening and today I’m asking that as a community you support Andy Buckland.

Please join me on Nov. 4 and cast your ballot for Andy Buckland.
