A View into the heart of Baxter State Park at Nov. 16 at the Mt. Blue Campus

FARMINGTON – Julia Ramsey, a Junior at Mount Blue High School will be giving an audiovisual presentation on the Maine Youth Wilderness Leadership Program in the Mt. Blue High School Forum on Monday, Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Ramsey was a participant in the Maine Youth Wilderness Leadership Program this past summer. MYWLP is a program put on by Friends of Baxter State Park designed to help students learn about, understand, and appreciate the wilderness through science, art, writing, storytelling, photography, history, and recreation. The program includes required reading, research, and a nine day backpacking trip in Baxter State Park.

Ramsey will be talking more about the program and the trip, as well as her own experience. This trip is made possible, with no direct cost to participants, by Friends of Baxter State Park, generous donors and the Chewonki Foundation.
