RANGELEY – In just a few short months RLHT and EcoVenture Camp for Kids! will be kicking off its 15th season of fun in one of the most beautiful and exhilarating playgrounds in Maine. To make the camper registration process easier for everyone, RLHT will be posting all the registration forms on our website  by May 1. Using web-based technology will eliminate our need to do a costly and time-consuming mailing and allow us to spend more time planning another exciting and award-winning season at camp.

You can print off the forms, fill them out, and mail them to us by the June 8th deadline, all from the convenience of home. If you do not have access to internet or a computer they can pick up registration forms at the Rangeley Library, the Rangeley Chamber of Commerce, the Rangeley Fitness Center (RRHWP), and at our office in Oquossoc or they can call us at 864-7311 x 5 to get forms mailed to them. We need one full set of signed and dated forms per camper, so unfortunately we can not take registrations over the phone.

EcoVenture is proud and excited to serve campers entering first- through seventh-grade and it gives priority to kids attending the local school (RSU 78). The 2012 season will start on Thursday, July 5, so that campers and their families can celebrate the 3rd and 4th of July together. For the remainder of the summer, camp will run Tuesday through Friday, until August 17. The camp day runs from 9 am to 3 pm, and we will provide free transportation to and from camp each day from several local bus stops (FMI, see our website).

This year our action-packed schedule will include kayaking, paddling, swimming, hiking, tennis, golf, and low ropes. And for fifth- to seventh-grade campers, it will include two Friday to Saturday overnights (7/20 to 7/21 and 8/3 to 8/4). We charge a small fee for the overnights and require a minimum of 8 campers to run each one.

The fees for attendance remain wildly affordable (if you compare our rates to the cost of day care or a babysitter, you will see what we mean). The fee for RSU 78 students is $100 for the entire seven-week season while the fee for non-resident children is $150 per week. (RLHT members receive a $25 discount).

Keep your eyes open for additional news on our website and our Facebook page (We will be posting additional news throughout April, May and June and look for updates in local newspapers. As always, feel free to contact Rebecca Kurtz, EcoVenture director, at 864-7311 x5 or email her at rkurtz@rlht.org if you have additional questions.
