KINGFIELD – Maine Huts & Trails is pleased to announce addition of a new trailhead leading to the Grand Falls Hut. This brand new parking area off the Lower Enchanted Road is just a half mile hike from the Grand Falls Hut, and is open to Maine Huts & Trails guests, as well as trail users. This addition provides easy access to the hut, the falls and activities on the Dead River including fishing, swimming, and paddling. With this new trailhead, summer guests now have the opportunity for shortened afternoon trips on the trails.

The Grand Falls Hut is known for its Class III/IV paddling on Dead River, and great trout and salmon fishing. The easy access parking area makes this hut a must –see for all visitors, especially those who haven’t been willing to make the long trek in the past.

“Grand Falls Hut has traditionally been the most remote and secluded hut in the Maine Huts & Trails system and this new trailhead provides hikers, bikers and day trippers the chance to experience this hut,” said Charlie Woodworth, Executive Director of Maine Huts & Trails. “The views from this hut are spectacular and we are thrilled that many more of our guests will now be able to experience a stay at Grand Falls.”

With Grand Falls now more accessible to guests, Maine Huts & Trails is offering a special 2-night package, “Relax & Recharge”, starting at $168 per member. Grand Falls Hut offers the perfect hub for a weekend of relaxing in the outdoors, with great waterfalls nearby, as well as, swimming and easy short hikes.
