Produce Safety Alliance grower training to be held on April 5

FARMINGTON – Produce Safety Alliance grower training will be held on Friday, April 5 at the University of Maine Farmington’s Olsen Memorial Student Center in Conference Room 123. Parking is available at Lot 15, behind the Student Center on High Street.

The course will provide a foundation of farm food safety best practices and comanagement information, FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirements and details on how to develop a farm food safety plan. The course includes a training manual, Produce Safety Alliance/Association of Food and Drug Officials course completion certificate, lunch and snacks, in addition to learning about safety best practices.

In addition to learning about produce safety best practices, key parts of the FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirements are outlined within each module. There will be time for questions and discussion, so participants should come prepared to share their experiences and produce safety questions.

This is grant funded, limited to Maine residents only. Registration closes March 29. Limit to 28 attendees. Registration is online, here.
