Saddleback extends ski season into May; special events this weekend

RANGELEY – Saddleback Ski Resort announced that it will be extending its season by operating weekends into May and that it is now offering a $10 gas voucher to anyone purchasing a 2-day adult lift ticket.

“We’ve always had snow on the trails in April,” said Jim Quimby, operations manager. “Because our loyal skier and rider base has grown in recent years, now is the time to take advantage of that snow by operating weekends into May.”

Saddleback’s 4,120 foot mountain and surrounding peaks generate abundant natural snow all winter and the cooler temperatures at that high elevation sustain snow coverage well into spring. Total snowfall so far this season is 227 inches which is more than the average for an entire season with several weeks of winter weather remaining.

The resort will be open Saturdays and Sundays as long as conditions hold.

The $10 gas voucher for those purchasing a 2-day adult ticket is part of Saddleback’s commitment to make skiing and riding affordable. The voucher is redeemable at four local gas stations: The Rangeley IGA, Lakeside Convenience, Looney Bin Irving in Rangeley and Koob’s Garage in Oquossoc.
