KENTS HILL – Sophomore Ayla Allen netted three goals to become the top goal scorer in University of Maine at Farmington women’s lacrosse history, and paced the Beavers to a 12-3 North Atlantic Conference win over Green Mountain College on Saturday at Kents Hill School’s Ted Alfond Field.

Allen’s three goals on Saturday gives her 63 for her career, eclipsing the previous mark of 62 held by Amie Daniels (2009-12). Allen set the program’s career points record exactly one week ago.

Freshman Jaclyn Langevin paced Farmington (3-7, 1-3 NAC) with four goals and one assist for five points, while junior Maddi Kadnar tallied two goals. Sophomore Mara Balboni and freshman Alaina Shorey each charted a goal and an assist, while newcomer Maria Noyola added one goal. Freshman Danielle Conway was credited with an assist on Noyola’s goal.

Corinne Colpitts scored two of Green Mountain’s (0-6, 0-3 NAC) goals, while Johanna Douglas added the remaining marker.

The Beavers jumped out to an 8-0 lead before the intermission. Langevin scored three of her four goals in the opening half, while Allen found the back of the net twice before the break.

Kadnar notched her second score of the day three-and-a-half minutes into the second half, and Allen scored her third of the afternoon at the 24:02 mark of the half to set the program’s career goals record.

Balboni quickly extended UMF’s lead to 11-0, before Green Mountain rattled off three straight goals in the span of just over seven minutes.

Langevin capped the scoring with her final goal with 12:05 remaining on the clock.

Senor Hannah Goodenow recorded 15 saves in the Farmington goal, while Virginia Anderson recorded 14 stops. The Beavers outshot the Eagles, 38-30, during the game, and had a slim 21-19 advantage in ground balls.

UMF returns to action on Wednesday, April 16, when it travels to Bangor to face Husson in the 5 p.m. contest.
