FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington women’s soccer team suffered a, 2-1, overtime loss to Husson Saturday afternoon at Prescott Field.

The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Beavers and fall to third in the NAC standings.

Leah Hibbard gave the Eagles the lead nine minutes into the second half when her 12th goal of the season made the score, 1-0. Lacey Kent-Webber passed to her left in the box and then Hibbard booted a line drive into the top right corner of the net.

Alexandra Crocker scored the equalizer in the 65th minute when her header found the back of the net. Bridget Humphrey sent a cross from the sideline to Crocker in front of the goal. Crocker jumped up and knocked her header into the left side of the goal past Eagle keeper Jess Poulin.

In the extra session, the Eagles wasted very little time with the walk-off victory after a goal from Katie Cyr. Taylor Fortin sent a cross in the box and Cyr chipped a shot just under the crossbar for the victory.

Sam Hatch saved nine shots for the Beavers and her counterpart, Jess Poulin, saved seven shots for the Eagles.

UMF returns to action Sunday afternoon for its last non-conference game of the season against University of Maine at Presque Isle. Game time is set for noon.
