CARRABASSETT VALLEY – Emma Kearing, a student at Carrabassett Valley Academy at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain, has qualified for the Eastern U16 Can Am Championships at Stowe, Vt.
Kearing is a 9th grader at CVA and is the daughter of Kim and Dave Kearing of Carrabassett Valley. She qualified for the championships by finishing 6th overall at the Eastern U16 Championships at Whiteface Mountain in Wilmington, New York, on March 16-20, 2015. The Can Am Championships consist of a Super Giant Slalom, Giant Slalom and Slalom.
“I am very pleased with Emma’s qualifying for the Eastern U16 Can Am Championships at Stowe. Her results all season and hard work have paid off for her,” said CVA Head U16 Coach Mike Savage.
