Cougars hold off Lewiston to earn seventh win

FARMINGTON – Mt. Blue Field Hockey now 7-3, earned their seventh win Tuesday afternoon over the Lewiston Blue Devils, beating them 3-1.

Mt. Blue dominated possession but the Blue Devils did not give in, holding the Cougars scoreless in the first half. In the second half. The Cougars picked up their intensity enough to score their first goal, with a great reverse hit goal by Jordyn Lawrence off an assist by Gracie Foss.

Foss continued the attack, scoring the second goal off an assist by Abby Wallace. The Lewiston team kept attacking and finally scored their first goal, with Kasey Talarico putting the ball in the cage to make it 2-1 late in the second half.

Mt. Blue’s Gracie Foss stayed on the attack, however, and scored the team’s final goal, Foss’ second goal of the day, off an assist by Victoria Newbill.

Mt Blue’s JV team went on to win their game 6-0. The goals were scored by – Gracie Foss 3 goals, Addisyn Davis 2 goals, Sam Ellis 1 goal and 1 assist. Riley Dwyer, Jordyn Lawrence also contributed 1 assist each. It was an excellent effort and intensity by all, with Taylor Burke leading the defense to a great victory.
