CARRABASSETT VALLEY – A trio of athletes from Carrabassett Valley Academy have returned from successful USASA National Championships at Copper Mountain, Colorado.
CVA senior Maddi Chamberlin placed 3rd in the Rail Jam Open category for women. She is the daughter of Eric Chamberlin of Carrabassett Valley and Doreen Chamberlin of Boothbay Harbor.
Emma Downing, a CVA weekend program member, earned wins in the giant slalom and slalom and a 3rd place finish in boardercross in the girls 12-13 age group. Downing is the daughter of Jonathan and Shelby Downing of Carrabassett Valley, Maine.
Another weekend program member, Luke Kearing placed 1st in skier cross for the 10-12 age group. Kearing is the son of Dave and Kim Kearing of Carrabassett Valley.
