Field hockey team raising money for cancer research with Sept. 21 tournament

WILTON – The local field hockey team will be hosting a round robin style tournament on Sunday, Sept. 21, to raise money for breast cancer and children’s cancer research.

The Wilton Recreation Department Field Hockey Team’s event begins at 10 a.m. at Kineowatha Park, with several other town teams in attendance. The event will also include a snack shack and t-shirts for sale, with a raffle to immediately follow the last game.

There is no cost to attend the tournament, although donations to fight cancer will be accepted. Alternately, those willing to make a donation can go online here. The team’s goal is to raise $2,000.
