FARMINGTON – The Mt. Blue High School girls varsity basketball team found plenty of opportunity and shot well to win their game against Brewer, 56-22 on Saturday afternoon.

Mt. Blue moved to 3-1 this afternoon, shooting a combined 16 of 17 from the free throw line. The Cougars were led by Caitlin Kane with 17 points, who pulled down 8 rebounds and added 4 steals and 4 assists.

Emilee Eustis contributed a solid floor game, dishing out 4 assists and taking 5 steals. Addie Brinkman added 12 points and 6 rebounds.

Brewer’s Courtney Pearson was the lead scorer at 7, with teammate Emily Lord contributing 5 and Cassy Green with 4 points.

Mt. Blue’s junior varsity team didn’t fare as well against Brewer with a final score of 46-27.

Mt. Blue’s Kayleigh Fontaine led her team with 7 points, 8 rebounds and teammate Kasadie Barker dished another 6 points and 5 rebounds.

In the freshmen game, it was Brewer 62, to Mt. Blue’s 38.
