Girls Softball: Mt. Blue defeats Brunswick, 10 to 4

FARMINGTON – The Mt. Blue Cougars (5-8) scored 9 runs early in the game and coasted to a 10 to 4 victory over the Brunswick Dragons at Prescott Field on the University of Maine at Farmington campus Friday afternoon.

Centerfielder Rachelle Bator’s 2 RBI single was a key hit in the 1st inning for the Cougars and Kasadie Barker also had an RBI single in the inning. Mt. Blue tacked on 5 more runs in the 2nd inning a pitcher Taylor Burke scattered 7 hits on the mound keeping the Dragon hitters off balance throughout the contest.

Addie Brinkman for Mt. Blue was the game’s only repeat hitter while teammate Brandi Harris added a double. Ashley Howe and Gianna Gaudet each had a double to pace Brunswick (1-12) at the plate.
