Girls Softball: Mt. Blue shuts out Hampden, 8-0

HAMPDEN – The Mt. Blue Cougars shut out the Hampden Academy Broncos 8 to 0 in a KVAC softball game Friday evening at Hampden.

Mt. Blue pitcher Caitlin Kane kept the Broncos off balance and had great defensive support giving up 5 hits while striking out 2 and walking only 1 in a 7 inning complete game win.

Mt. Blue (4-6) scored their 1st run on a lead-off triple in the 2nd inning by Rachele Bator and came in on an RBI single by catcher Kayleigh Fontaine.

The Cougars added 4 runs in the 2nd inning on base hits by Moesha Harrington, Addie Brinkman, Taylor Burke and Kane. Rachele Bator added a 2 run blast in the 6th inning and Kane had 4 hits on the day. Abby Lord had 2 hits for the Broncos (2-8).
