WILTON – On Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, golfer Dan DiPompo of Jay, shot a hole-in-one on hole No. 7 at Wilson Lake Country Club.
Hole No. 7 plays 140 yards and DiPompo used his wedge to accomplish the hole-in-one. The witnesses to the hole in one were Joel Pomeroy and Dick Austin. DiPompo later described his hole in one after it landed on the green as: “I spun it back 10 feet, and bang in the hole!”
DiPompo has had a total of four holes in one over his long golfing career, with three of them on hole No. 7 at Wilson Lake Country Club. The last one he made was made on Aug. 12, 2008 on that same hole. Congratulations Dan!

I was there too and can tell you without a doubt that the ball did not spin back 10 ft.
It was closer to 20 ft.
I watched my grandfather Coach Tommy Thompson do the same thing do the same thing 60 years ago.Question, how old is the golf course.
