Kat McKay hired as new softball assistant coach

FARMINGTON – Director of Athletics, Fitness, and Recreation, Julie Davis, is pleased to announce the hiring of new Assistant Softball Coach Kat McKay.

Her primary function with the team will be working with pitchers and catchers, along with recruiting as the responsibilities were passed down by newly promoted head coach Jim Smith.

McKay has served as the Varsity Softball Coach at Poland Regional High School since 2012, where she will continue this role, and a varsity basketball assistant since 2011, including a stint as the JV Girls’ Basketball coach in 2007-2008.

McKay earned her Associates Degree from Central Maine Community College and is working towards her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Southern Maine.

Prior to Poland, she held the JV Girl’s Basketball, JV Softball, and JV Soccer coaching positions at St. Dominic’s Regional High School Varsity before taking over as head coach of Varsity Softball in 2010.
