Men’s basketball: Four Beavers reach double digits in NEC loss

HENNIKER, N.H. – The University of Maine at Farmington men’s basketball team (3-20, 3-13) had four players score double figures in a 84-71 North Atlantic Conference loss at New England College (7-15, 4-11) on Saturday afternoon.

Anfernee Dent (Jackson, Miss./Daegu) scored at least 10 points in game this weekend as the freshman led all scorers with 19 points. Dent was 7-of-14 from the floor, nailed four shots from three-point land, and recorded a pair of rebounds and steals. Sean Murphy (Westbrook, Maine/Westbrook) netted 12 points on a perfect shooting outing by making all four shots from long range. Ryan Camire (Acton, Maine/Sanford) added 11 points and three rebounds while Nick Hilton (Wilton, Maine/Mt. Blue) contributed 10 points and made 6-of-9 attempts at the line.

New England College had five players chart double digits with Dezron Wilson leading the way with 15 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Ricky Leonard and Frantzy Georges each tallied 14 points and Andrew Haschytz and Jakhalil Smith dropped 10 points apiece.

UMF will play the final road game of the regular season on Wednesday at Maine Maritime.
