FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington men’s soccer team surrendered two goals in each period during a, 4-1, loss to Husson Saturday afternoon at Prescott Field.

Dylan Wetmore scored the first goal for the Eagles in the 24th minute. Stephen Berenyi dribbled through the Beaver defense in the box and dished a pass to Stephen Berenyi in front of the goal. Berenyi tried for the header but his attempt deflected to Wetmore, who heel-kicked a shot into the right side of the goal.

Berenyi netted a goal of his own with five minutes left in the first half. Saker Ghanayme sent a pass through the UMF defense to Berenyi. The junior chipped a shot over UMF keeper Ronie Morales to give the Eagles a 2-0 advantage.

Berenyi scored his second goal of the game in the 71st minute. Berenyi attacked the Beaver defense and booted a grounder into the bottom left corner of the goal past a diving Morales.

Yusuf Yama answered for the Beavers less than a minute later. Yama dribbled from the end line towards the goal with three Husson defenders giving him very little breathing room. Yama took a shot that deflected off a Husson defender into the back of the net.

Ghanayem scored the final goal of the game in the 82nd minute when he worked through the back line of UMF and shot a grounder into the right side of the goal.

Ronie Morales saved 10 shots for the Beavers on the afternoon, giving him the ninth best season all-time in UMF history with 106 total saves.

UMF travels to Thomas for a 7 p.m. night game on Wednesday and its last road conference game of the season.
