Mt. Blue girls basketball rolls to nine wins

FARMINGTON – Powered by a dominant offensive effort by Addie Brinkman and Caitlin Kane, Mt. Blue girls basketball team advanced to 9 and 4 at the expense of Messalonskee today.

Mt. Blue girls scored 55 points, 24 of them at the foul line on solid, 24-for-31 shooting. Scoring Leaders included Brinkman, who scored 20 points, and Kane, who scored 16. Both players also put up six rebounds and three steals.

With the win, Mt. Blue advances to nine wins, with opponent Messalonskee falling to 6 and 8.

The junior varsity squad was edged out by Messalonskee, 29 to 33, to fall to 2 and 11 on the season. Bright spots for the junior varsity team included Kasadie Barker, who put up 10 points and 9 rebounds, Hannah LeClair’s five points and four steals, and Jocelyn Daggett’s six points.
