AUGUSTA – The Mt. Blue High School Cross Country team took 3rd place out of 24 teams at the Scott Lalibertie preseason cross country race at Cony High School on Friday.
The race uses a unique scoring system in which boys and girls places are combined to come up with the final score.
For the Mt. Blue girls team, Maggie Hickey lead the way in 8th place. She was followed by Emily McCarthy (14), Meg Charles (17), Maeve Hickey (25), Zoe Huish (45), and Miriam Cohen (57).
For the boys Tucker Barber paced the squad in 11th place. He was followed by Andrew Roberts (21), Zeke Robinson (27), Jon Lesko (47), Jerry Mixangelo (48), Isaac Seigle (51), and Isaiah Reid (58).
Another highlight of the meet was freshman Chelsea Seabold taking first place among JV girls. Other top JV girls for the Cougars were Kayla White (4), Grace Andrews (6), and Julia Ramsey (13).
The boys also had some excellent JV finishers including Trevayne Jackson (6), Ian Burke (8), Jesse Dalton (17), Corey Rogers (27), and Sawyer Zundel (43).
