Mt. Blue Youth Field Hockey season kicks off on Sept. 5 with signups and initial practice

FARMINGTON – Mt. Blue Youth Field Hockey will hold signups and its first practice on Saturday, Sept. 5 at Mt. Blue Middle School for grades 3-6 in Farmington and New Sharon from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Practice and game schedules will be provided at that time.

The season extends through all of September and ends the week of Oct. 18. Practice and home games will be held at the middle school field. The first game will be Sunday, Sept. 6 at the middle school. Grades 3 and 4 will play at 11 a.m. and grades 5 and 6 will play at noon. Practices will be held on Saturdays and games will be mainly on Sundays.

Games and play days will be scheduled with Wilton, Winslow, Spruce Mountain, Lawrence, Turner, Gardiner and Skowhegan.

The cost to participate is $25 per child. Reversible pinnies will be provided for all players. Participants must have a stick, shin guards and a mouth guard.

If you need a stick, please let Coach Jody Harmon know, as a supply of sticks is available. Mouth guards and shin guards need to be purchased. A limited supply of shin guards is available for those that need them.
