WILTON – The Race Against the Cold was held Sunday, raising $1,600 for Western Maine Community Action to weatherize houses.
Nate Paling came up with the idea after working as a house inspector, after realizing how many local homes are poorly insulated, or uninsulated altogether. The run took participants across the frozen Wilson Lake, on trails groomed by the local snowmobile club.
Paling hopes the race will become an annual event for the area, with the possibility of adding skis or fat bikes to the race.
Thank you for a wonderful event!
Many Thanks to Nate and all that participated and supported this great effort!
It was a fun day for sure!
Cheers,
Bill
Great job, Nate. A very worthy cause
Nate and his crew really knew how to put on a good event! Thanks to everyone involved.
Oh, and I’m still sore from it.
Tonnes of potential for a annual event
Most runners key select warmers dates/runs to set a P.R.
………………….and a flat course!
