Ramsey leads UMF Nordic Team at USCSA nationals

BEND, Ore. – The University of Maine at Farmington Ski Team saw five of its Nordic skiers compete in the 2015 United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association National Championship on Tuesday at Mount Bachelor.

In the ladies 7k classic, Emily Ramsey finished as the top Beaver skier in 17th place out of 41 qualified racers and a total time of 30:11.7. Alisha Labbe trailed Ramsey by six minutes (36:37.1), for a 35th place finish. Ellie Pinto rounded out UMF’s skiers with a total time of 46:48.4.

Bryce Neal placed 40th in the men’s 7k event with a time of 30:02.4. Wyoming’s Mason Vincent topped the competition with an event-best 22:54.8. Joshua Richards came in 44th at the 35:56.7 mark.

Farmington will compete in the freestyle sprint race Wednesay morning at 10 a.m.

  1. Congratulations Emily on your classic race, also on your 4th place finish in the sprints today. UMF should be very proud of their Nordic Skiers. Looking forward to watching Friday’s Freestyle race.
