Rose leads UMF at USCSA regionals; Jacques earns top 10 finish

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. – The University of Maine at Farmington Ski Team competed in the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Eastern Regional Championships today held at West Mountain.

In the men’s giant slalom race, Alex Rose finished with an overall time of 1:56:80 and placed 27th out of 48 qualified racers. Sam Ricker followed Rose in 32nd with a combined time of 1:58:83. Sebastian Dumont raced his way to 36th place and claimed an overall time of 2:02:15. William Asbell was right behind Dumont in 38th (2:05:98) and Alex Stevens rounded out UMF’s racers in 41st (2:07:05).

Lindsay Jacques placed in the top ten in the women’s giant slalom. Jacques finished ninth out of 51 qualified racers. Jacques’ overall time of 1:52:46 was seven seconds off Brown University’s Nicole Pearl’s lead time of 1:45:84.

On Monday, the USCSA Eastern Regional Championship results from the combined Saturday and Sunday competitions are still being finalized.
