Scott Hoisington ’79 hired as new UMF ski coach

FARMINGTON – Director of Athletics, Fitness, and Recreation, Julie Davis, is pleased to announce Scott Hoisington as the new Head Ski Coach.

Hoisington has been an adjunct professor at UMF teaching three classes in the recreations department, golf, and skiing management. He was a supervisor for two years at the Perfect Turn Ski and Snowboard School where he oversaw 30 staff members, including both full and part time.

He served as a program director for the Carrabassett Valley Academy Alpine Program for 16 years where he managed a coaching staff of 8-10 full-time coaches and 20-25 part-time coaches.

Prior to Perfect Turn Ski and Snowboard School, he was the Director of Events at Sugarloaf/USA Ski Resort for four years. His duties included managing a budget and staff. He coordinated the United Stated Skiing Alpine and Freestyle Nationals two consecutive years.

The 2000 University of Maine Sports Hall of Fame inductee has resumed his role at Diadema Golf Club in North Anson, ME as the PGA Certified Golf Professional.
