The annual swim across Wilson Lake
WILTON - The annual swim across Wilson Lake was held this week. Twenty-two swimmers participated in what has become a rite of passage for the upper American Red Cross swim classes at Kineowatha Park. The swimmers ranging in ages from 10-21 gathered at 8:30 on Tuesday morning. They swam across the lake to rest at a homeowner's dock, had a quick snack, and swam back to Kineowatha all before 10 a.m.
This week completes the eight-week session of swimming lessons that more than 140 swimmers have been participating in daily Monday-Thursday. Fun Day is scheduled for this Thursday with activities for all swim groups, as well as face painting, sand castle building contests, jello eating contests, a candy toss, and a hot dog cookout at noon.
