UMF announces new director of athletic communications

FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington’s Director of Athletics Julie Davis, is pleased to announce Cam Eggeman will serve as the department’s director of athletic communications and athletic eligibility officer.

He takes the place of Dustin Parker, who accepted a position with Catamount TV at the University of Vermont earlier this fall. Eggeman was selected to fill the role after an extended national search.

Eggeman comes to UMF from Newberry College where he worked various capacities including, assistant director of communications, assistant director of event management, and as a member of facilities management.

While at Newberry, an NCAA Division II college in South Carolina, he assisted in reporting and promoting 19 varsity sports under the watch of Josh Manck. He worked closely with the South Atlantic Conference, ECAC, and on severally occasions assisted ESPN’s national broadcast for Newberry’s nationally ranked football team. During his time in South Carolina, Eggeman worked in a sports information capacity with multiple schools in the region.

Eggeman graduated in 2015 from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine with a bachelor of science degree in Sports Management and a minor in Business. During his time at St. Joseph’s Eggeman worked in the Sports Information Department under the guidance of Assistant Athletic Director of Communications Corey McCarthy. A member of event staff all four years, he worked as an intern in the SID office where he helped oversee a large student worker staff. Eggeman played an important role in a transition to presto sports stats as well as implementing the live video broadcast with stretch Internet.

Druing his senior year at St. Joseph’s, Eggeman was selected as president of the Sports Management Student Association where he helped organize several events including a trip to Harvard Law School for the Sports Symposium.

Cam is a native of Middletown, R.I., and graduated from Middletown High School.
