A couple of hundred people participated in the 6th annual Turkey Trot organized by the University of Maine at Farmington. This year’s event will be held on Nov. 19.

FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington Fitness and Recreation Center invites the public to join them in its ninth annual Turkey Trot and Kids Fun Run Saturday, Nov. 19. Race day registration is 8:30-9:30 a.m., Kid’s Fun Run starts at 9:45 a.m., 5K/10K Turkey Trot starts at 10:15 a.m.

This seasonal community fitness activity event features 5K and 10K road races, which both start and finish at the UMF Fitness and Recreation Center. Child care is provided for children of parents running in the races.

Registration is required to participate. Forms may be picked up in advance at the UMF Fitness and Recreation Center or downloaded from the website here where route maps can also be found.

Registration for the 5K for adults is $20 on race day, $15 in advance; 10K for adults is $25 on race day, $20 in advance; 5K for UMF student with I.D. is $15 on race day, $10 in advance; 10K for UMF students with I.D. is $20 on race day, $15 in advance; and for the Kids Fun Run registration is $8 on race day and $5 in advance.

Free T-shirts will be handed out to the first 100 registered runners and the first 20 kids registered for the fun run.
