UMF golf takes top five finish at UNE Invitational

KENNEBUNKPORT – University of Maine at Farmington golf finished the University of New England Invitational on Thursday afternoon with a fourth place tie.

The Beavers were led by Eric Aguilar (Thornton, N.H./Plymouth Regional), who placed fifth and carded a 72, only three strokes off the pace. Gavin Brickley (Plymouth, N.H./Plymouth Regional) and Mike Richard (Turner, Maine/St. Dominic Academy) matched each other’s round with a 75 and tied for tenth. Trevor Hisler (Skowhegan, Maine/Skowhegan) and Matt Pelletier (South Portland, Maine/South Portland) rounded out UMF’s round with an 81.

UMF tied the University of Southern Maine on the team leaderboard with a 303. UNE edged UMF and USM by one stroke in third place. The round marked the fourth top-five finish for the Beavers this season.

UMF competes in the Thomas Invitational on Sunday.
