UMF men’s soccer welcomes Blake Hart to coaching staff

FARMINGTON – University of Maine at Farmington Director of Athletics, Recreation, and Fitness Julie Davis is pleased to welcome Blake Hart as the next assistant men’s soccer coach.

Hart, a Farmington native, joins head coach Tommy DiNuzzo and the UMF coaching staff as the Beavers are coming off a North Atlantic Conference semifinal appearance last season.

Hart was a four-year letter winner for the Castleton Spartans. In his career, he appeared in 75 games with 42 starts while tallying 15 goals and six assists. In 2015, the Spartans advanced to the North Atlantic Conference Championship. He was also a member of the Castleton Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

As a camp assistant, Hart has worked soccer camps at UMF youth summer camp, UMF high school preparatory camp, Thomas College, and Colby College.

Hart’s volunteer experiences include coaching youth soccer and basketball while officiating youth soccer with the Farmington Recreation Department. As a student-athlete at Castleton, Hart volunteered with the Youth Special Olympics in West Rutland, Vt. and coached numerous Spartan events.

As an intern, he worked with the Castleton and Mt. Blue High School athletic departments.

Hart holds his coaching soccer certification from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). He graduated from Castleton in May 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration and minor in Business Administration.
