UMF Ski Team headed to USCSA Regionals this weekend

FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington Ski Team has qualified for the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association Regional Championship this weekend.

The Alpine men’s team finished as the top team in the USCSA Eastern Conference, Reynolds Division and topped the University of Maine and Bowdoin College. Alex Rose, Samuel Ricker, and Sebastian Dumont placed as the team’s top racers this season. Alex Stevens and William Asbell saw strong finishes this season and helped the team top the University of Maine with races held at Titcomb Mountain and Sunday River.

The USCSA Alpine Championship will take place at West Mountain in Queensbury, NY, on Saturday and Sunday.

On the women’s side, Lindsay Jacques qualified for the USCSA Individual Ladies Alpine Championship, also taking place at West Mountain.

The Nordic team will compete in the USCSA Nordic Championship at Smuggler’s Notch, located in Jericho, VT. Emily Ramsey, Alisha Labbe, and Bryce Neal will represent the UMF Nordic Team as the trio has produced the best overall times this season.

With a strong showing at regionals, UMF can qualify for the USCSA Nationals on March 1-7 at Mount Bachelor in Bend, Oregon. For results and recaps from this weekend, visit www.go.UMFbeavers.com.
