UMF women’s soccer pulls off comeback win over Husson

FARMINGTON – University of Maine at Farmington women’s soccer (3-4, 2-0) junior Hadlee Yescott (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) scored twice in the second half to lift the Beavers to a 3-2 comeback win over Husson University (2-5, 1-1) on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference action.

Yescott scored the tying and decisive goal in a five-minute span. The Beavers were trailing 2-1 when the junior found the back of the net in the 53rd minute after an assist came from Katie Clark (Westbrook, Maine/Westbrook).

In the 58th minute, she tallied the eventual game-winning score with Bridget Humphrey (Jefferson, Maine/Erskine Academy) dishing the assist.

In the first half, the Eagles grabbed two quick goals in in the first seven minutes. Ashley Gleason (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) answered back with her fifth goal of the season in the eighth minute to cut the deficit in half.

Kiana Thompson (Industry, Maine/Mt. Blue) stopped seven shots in net for the Beavers to pick up the win.

UMF hosts UMaine-Presque Isle on Sunday afternoon.
