U-12 boys Botting game highlights
FARMINGTON – This Sunday marked the start of the new fall season for Western Maine United’s U-12 boys team. WMU were hoping to get the season started off on the right foot with a win against the Seacoast Dragons of Brunswick. In the opening minutes it looked like they might just get their wish. Striker Jack Gilbert took advantage of defensive confusion in the back and gave WMU an early 1-0 lead with a right-footed finish. From that point on the game was largely controlled by the Dragons. Going into the break they took a 2-1 lead over the visitors. Seacoast picked up where they left-off coming out of the half, adding four more goals before the final whistle. WMU goalkeeper Xander Gurney had a standout performance in the net, collecting 17 saves over 60 minutes.

U-14 WMU Allen game highlights
FARMINGTON – Western Maine United scored four second half goals to send WMU U-14s to send the defending state champions opening game win in Falmouth. Jed Zelie, Kenyon Pillsbury, Jonathon Jordan and Tyson Hill all scored for WMU. Evan Allen and Cole Rugh had assists. Ethan Powell made 5 saves on 7 shots for Western Maine United. WMU out shot Falmouth 14 to 7. Harry Walters, Summer Ross, Dylan Starbird and Dawson Brackley had stellar games on defense for WMU.
