Soccer program in northern Franklin County takes shape
A fall soccer league for K-6 students in the MSAD 58 area will be starting September 7.(May 29, 2008 4:10 PM)
Mt. Abram Co-Ed Soccer Camp Sign-ups: July 7-11 held at Mt. Abram High School. Open to all students ages 9-14. The day camp is designed to build basic soccer skills and game strategies while making new friends and building bonds between schools. No previous experience is necessary, but each camper should bring his or her own ball. Shin guards are required and cleats are recommended. Transportation and lunch are not provided. Mt. Blue Basketball Camp: Boys and Girls – Grades 3 through 9 (as of Sept. 2008) will be held June 23-27, from 9am to 3pm. at the Mt. Blue High School Gymnasium.
Directors: Jim Bessey: Over 420 wins as a Varsity coach, 30 tournament appearances, two State Regional Titles, over 35 years of Basketball Camp experience, 5 Conference Championships, 10 Coach of the Year Awards. Chris Brinkman: 18 years as a Varsity Assistant, former Mt Blue player and 2nd Team All –State selection. Only Division 1 player in the history of Mt Blue Boys Basketball, led the Nation in Rebounding in NAIA Div.3 in college. Assistant Director: Dave Simpson: former Junior High Coach-Present J.V. Coach with over 125 wins. Additional staff will be made up of high school players.
Camp Philosophy: We are committed to teaching the fundamentals and skills needed to play the game of basketball correctly. The rules of basketball, teamwork and being a good teammate will be stressed. Individual development will be emphasized by using instruction, demonstration, and drills. Daily Schedule: Morning Session: Will include skills, drills, competition and games. Afternoon Session: Will include additional skill buildups, rules, competitions and games. Lunch: Will be up to the individual campers.
Additional Information: This camp will be limited to the first 60 applicants. It will cost $140 for 5 days, or $130 if you register before (must be received by camp staff ) June 9.
